Joris Brauns earned his first MVP title for 2016 with Windows Development as area of expertise.
I'm very excited to announce, that I earned my first year as a Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals title award 2016! With Windows Development as area of expertise.
For those who are not familiar with this award, this is one of the ways how Microsoft shows appreciation to community leaders who’ve demonstrated an exemplary commitment to helping others get the most out of their experience with Microsoft technologies.
We share our passion, real-world knowledge, and technical expertise with the community and with Microsoft.
There is no real benchmark for becoming an MVP. You need to be nominated or apply for registration on the Microsoft MVP website. Each nominee's contributions are compared to those of other candidates, and active MVP's receive the same level of analysis as new candidates each year.
There are a lot of contributions you can make, here are some tips of things you could do to strengthen your profile:
The road of earning the title on it's own. I always did this and still do, with a great deal of pleasure. Beside this I'm not sure of all benefits yet, being an MVP. But this what I can tell already.
You get an MSDN account and Office365 license! That's freaking awesome on its own.
After signing Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) you can join Online Meetings - Product Group Interactions (PGIs) where you get the latest information under NDA of Microsoft technologies directly from Microsoft Engineers.
You can find a little more information on this here:
Check topic "Engaging in the Windows Insider forums" https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2015/06/12/how-windows-insider-feedback-influences-windows-10-development/
And there are probably much more benefits, but i'm still on my way of figuring this out. So stay in touch for updates!
Getting here at this point of my career, there are lots of people who earn my biggest respect and Kudos. Now I would like to express my gratitude to the company which supports me big time, Team4Talent (Employer Bart Van Herck) and all employees!
